Welp, I've been home a week. (well a week and a couple of days but who's counting)
That's insane. It feels like I've been home months. Time feels like it moves so slow here. It feels really weird being home and I feel like I am experiencing culture shock all the time. In Thailand everyone is so slow paced and they stop to just talk to you and even if you don't speak the same language it feels like they see you. Everyone has felt so rushed in America, like they don't care about anyone else, only about where they are going. It's been a hard adjustment for sure. I did miss parts of America though. I missed the food, the people, the scenery, and parts of our culture. But I miss those same things about Thailand. I miss Thailand, but I love home. It can be an odd place to be at times. I find myself being so happy to drive a car, go visit friends, grab food and know what I am eating, and be around family but at the same time I miss my class, my daily smoothie, hanging with my gals, eating all the food I could handle, and experiencing new things everyday. Thailand was such a dream, so much so that sometimes it feels like I never went. Everything has changed since I left. Remember how I was so nervous to leave because my life was perfect and everything was amazing? Well, that changed. Ha. I obviously don't want to be a downer but I also don't want to be that blogger that acts like her life is perfect ya know? I'm not saying things are terrible but they are definitely different. It seems like I have less friends than I thought, family life is a little crazy, and holy hell America is expensive. It's actually been a really difficult transition. But I think I am finally getting into the swing of things, which is great. I got a job, I started school, I got an apartment, and I have had In n Out at least 8 times.
Well that's my quick short update. I don't have much to say and I feel like a lot is going on in my personal life so I don't have tons of time to write, but I will be back next week!
