Another week, Another 1000 Baht spent on coffee what's new?
Guys, I have some very exciting news for you. I am at the HALFWAY mark (barely). Isn't that wild?
Like January and February are OVAH, which means I only have March and April left, how wild is that?
Here's my logic(stay with me here). So I have been teaching for 7 weeks, I teach for 3 more weeks and then we have our 2 week vacation, and then only 4 more weeks of teaching. So basically...Every week I teach after this week will be like "Oh my goodness I have taught more weeks than I have left" Which is super stellar thinking if you don't like teaching. SO THAT'S AMAZING.
This week we finally booked our vacation, better late than pregnant am I right? We are soooooo excited. We will be going to Phuket and staying at a 5 star resort! *shout out to my moms timeshare. We are so excited for that because we basically sleep amongst the cockroaches and lizards so a bed off the ground will be a HUGE upgrade. After that we are heading over to the Phi Phi islands, then Koh Lanta, and finishing our island hopping in Krabi, YAS. After Krabi we are going to pack up our crap and go to BALI. Guys, you know how much I love Bali, and I get to go back. I am so stoked. I am so excited to go see stuff I didn't get to see, and also go back to my favorite places in the world. It's going to be one hell of a trip and I am toooooo excited. Like, the trip and Lily are the only two things that get me through the week sometimes.
This week we spent the weekend at home, which was nice. On Saturday morning my friend, Pat picked me up and took me to the morning market. It was just Pat and I this time and it was really fun. She's so nice to take me and just let me walk around trying new things all day. I have a few staples, that I get everytime, like this wine flavored drink in a bag, Rotee, and fresh fruit. She is the best. She is so funny and makes me laugh all day. After the market we picked up the other girls and went to her house for breakfast. She cooked us these Vietnamese style eggs that were UNREAL, like the best breakfast I've ever had. It was so yummy. Her dad AKA Thai dad, gave us loads of bananas, coconut water, and pineapple. They're like our little family out here in Thailand. Don't know how I am going to leave Pat for America. She's become a real friend. On Sunday, we had the Thai teachers over and taught them how to swim. One of the teachers said she couldn't swim because she was on her period. We offered her a tampon and she had NEVER USED ONE. So we had to teach her how to put a tampon in, which was wild. Like she's 28 and never used a tampon. It was so funny trying to act it out, since they don't speak English. Then they cooked us a Thai Picnic with Prawns, Soup, and Snails. It was weird, but good. If I just ate the food without thinking about what I was eating it was really yummy.
I've been so homesick lately though.SO HOMESICK. I miss my friends, I miss my family. I miss just hanging out with people. I miss going downtown and bar hopping. I miss dressing up and looking cute. I miss lunch dates with friends. Thank GOD Elisabeth FaceTime's me every single day. I seriously don't know what I would do without her. Like some days are so hard that the only thing that makes it better is getting to talk about real life things with her. For those of you that don't know Elisabeth is one of my best friends, she's the best. She's like this hot red head with a killer smile and an even more killer personality. I am soooooooo blessed to have her in my life, seriously. Like she's one of those people that just get me, you know those people right? Well she's that person for me.
With that being said....
Traveling is unreal guys. I love living in Thailand. LOVE IT. Living in a foreign country has just been a life changing experience. I've had so much time to think and just plan out my life. It's really nice to just be present with life ya know? Like I've never had a time in my life where I have so much free time, and actually I'm slowly getting used to it.I love having the freedom to do whatever I want, whatever makes me happy. I love being able to just sit with my thoughts. I love being able to see the world from a unique perspective. But, with that being said I am so excited to be busy again. I am getting so antsy to get back school and work. I AM SO DAMN EXCITED TO HAVE A JOB AGAIN. I think I am just one of those people who needs to be busy to be happy.
*Funny things Lily said this week
"I don't know how I know everything, my dad didn't teach me anything"
Two boys in my class were fighting and I said STOP FIGHTING and she responds with, "Did you know that people are fighting in Syria right now? and Turkey"
"Donald Trump is damn boring"
"If you're from America why are you thin? You are too thin. Why are you perfect?"
"Remember how you said you were going to win, and then I did and you didn't?"
PEACE OUT, CYA LATER, BYE
